Let Summer Begin!

The school year is coming to an end and we are ready to start another summer! I survived my first fair as a 4-H leader. It was fun and a lot of work. My students all did a really good job with their animals. It was nice to see that they really enjoyed the experience.

But school is out for me on June 1st and for Shane on June 7th. We spent the weekend at the cabin and summer has started! I got to go for several kayak rides. One in the evening to see the sunset and one in the morning to explore the channel.

Here is my cute little dock boy. He pulls my kayak onto shore so I can get out.

We had a really nice weekend. A great way to start the summer!

Cabin Time!

It's cabin time again! This weekend we spent Saturday night at the cabin. This is pretty early to be able to get to the cabin, but the lack of rain and snow this year made it easy to get in early. But, there is still a little bit of snow on the other side of the lake.

We found rainbow trout spawning in Nick & Suzy's pond. That was pretty cool!

Of course, the boys went fishing, but it was a little cold and windy.

In fact, it was so windy Brooks had to go for a brisk swim to fish the chairs out of the lake after they blew in overnight.

And then Roosevelt went for a swim.

But, it's definitely spring at the cabin!
