Playing in the Sprinklers

It's definitely sprinkler weather in Chico with temperatures in the 100's lately. The boys had a good time playing in the sprinklers out front today.

So Behind

I am so behind on posting here... Everyone is good. Little League and school are coming to an end. Hopefully things will slow down a bit for the summer.... oh, who am I kidding? It'll be crazy as ever! I have pictures from Disneyland and the fair. I'll be posting those soon. In the meantime, here's something to make you laugh!

Happy Birthday, Shane!

Shane turned 8 on Monday! Last night he had a bowling party with some of his friends. (Thanks, G.G.!)
Shane said he thought it might have been the best party ever! All the kids bowled and had fun. Of course, there was pizza and video games. And a lightsaber cake!

We've had a little bit of rain here lately. Here is a pretty rainbow we saw last week.

Feeling Better

So a nasty stomach bug attacked the entire Taylor family this past week. It was possibly the worst stomach bug I have encountered. Wyatt was the first one to get sick on Monday and the last one to start feeling better on Friday. In between we all had a turn, with every one of us sick Tuesday night. Fun times! Needless to say, we are better now.

It seems that Spring is trying to come very early to northern California. Last week we saw temperatures in the high 70's. This week temperatures are back in the 50's and it is raining, which is good. We really need the rain.

All in all, we are plugging along. Shane has had some fun field trips to the fish hatchery and the Sacramento Wildlife Refuge. He will have a week off from school for his birthday... lucky kid!

Long Time

Holy Cow! It has been a long time since I've posted anything here! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Let me try to catch up a little...

Santa was good to both boys. Shane got a BB gun (Santa didn't really get the appropriate approval for that one, but Shane likes it so... I guess it's okay.)

Wyatt didn't quite know what to make of everything. He was kind of a whirlwind all day.

New Shoes

Both boys got new shoes this week. Wyatt is off and walking so we realized he should probably have something a little sturdier than those soft bootie-style shoes. He's pretty proud of them.

And Shane got a cool new pair of Skechers after discovering that stopping your bike with your foot would put a huge hole in the toe where dirt and water would get in.... I'm pretty sure his bike is equipped with brakes, never a dull moment here!

Shane went hunting with Brooks, Grandpa, Uncle Bryan and Trenton yesterday. Grandpa was the only one to get a bird. Here is the poor creature. Somehow it made it's way to our house.

The leaves are just about off the trees here, Nana is here for a month (yay!), we went to the Christmas Preview in downtown Chico last night, and we're gearing up for Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas tree hunting. I just love this time of year!

Oh, and kind of exciting for me... I went to my first craft show this weekend selling the things I sew. My mom went with me. I have to say that I did not break the bank, but I did actually turn a profit and got some good feedback about my stuff. I sold this bag! among other things. It's a small start, but it's something.

Birthday Party

We had a birthday party for Wyatt with Nana, Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Casey, Trenton, Terryn, Nick, Suzy and Amy on Saturday. Wyatt got more chocolate cake and more presents! He had a good time...
